Inula racemosa builds a substantial clump of large green leaves, followed by tall stems carrying yellow daisy-like flowers. The narrow petals give the blooms a slightly tousled, informal charm. It makes a strong backdrop for smaller perennials and fits naturally into generous jungle-style or meadow-inspired planting. Plant it where its height can contribute to the whole view rather than crowding a narrow path.
Growing conditions:
Choose sun or partial shade and deep, fertile, moisture-retentive soil. Water in dry weather and support the flower stems if the site is exposed.
Maximum size:
Approximately 150–250 cm tall and 50–100 cm wide.
