Yucca rostrata produces a near-spherical head of narrow leaves that move gently in the breeze. As the plant matures, the crown rises on a woody trunk, creating a distinctive small-tree silhouette. Creamy-white flowers may appear on established plants in summer or autumn. It makes an excellent standalone feature where the whole outline can be appreciated.

Growing conditions:
Choose full sun, shelter and sharply drained soil, avoiding water collecting around the crown or roots in winter. Protect young plants during severe cold and allow generous clearance from sharp leaf tips.

Maximum size:
Eventually approximately 250–400 cm tall and 150–250 cm wide, with flower stems extending above the crown.
