Hedychium Devon Cream

Hedychium ‘Devon Cream’ carries broad green leaves on upright, leafy stems. Creamy-yellow flowers with warmer yellow centres appear in late summer and autumn, bringing fragrance as well as colour. The gentle shades work especially well alongside ferns, bronzed foliage and orange-flowered companions. Give it a place near a sheltered seating area so the flowers can be enjoyed close up.

Growing conditions:
Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that stays moist during growth but drains freely in winter. Protect rhizomes with a deep mulch in mild gardens, or move container-grown plants under frost-free cover.

Maximum size:
Approximately 100–150 cm tall and up to 50 cm wide initially; established clumps gradually spread.
