Agave havardiana is a striking evergreen succulent with thick leaves arranged into a broad rosette. Its blue-grey colouring brings a cooling contrast to warm stone, gravel and terracotta. Strong marginal teeth and pointed tips add definition, making it most effective with space around it. Choose a position away from busy paths so the shape can be admired comfortably.

Growing conditions:
Provide full sun and exceptionally free-draining, gritty soil, protecting the crown from prolonged winter rain. Cold tolerance is best in established plants kept dry, and young or potted specimens benefit from winter shelter.

Maximum size:
Approximately 50–100 cm tall and wide for the mature rosette; a flowering stem can rise to around 200–500 cm.
