The spiral aloe arranges its thick leaves into a remarkably precise pattern as it matures. Pale green foliage, fine marginal teeth and darker leaf tips give each rosette crisp definition. Mature plants may produce branching spikes of reddish flowers, but the sculptural foliage is its main attraction. Display it slightly raised so you can admire the spiral from above.

Growing conditions:
Use a very freely draining, gritty compost in a bright, airy position, avoiding excessive heat and stagnant moisture. Water during active growth, reduce watering in winter and provide protection from severe frost and prolonged winter wet.

Maximum size:
Rosettes reach approximately 30–50 cm tall and 50–100 cm wide; the spiral develops progressively with maturity.
