Hedychium forrestii forms upright stems lined with broad, lance-shaped green leaves. White flowers appear towards late summer and autumn, bringing fragrance and a light, elegant contrast to the substantial foliage. It looks particularly good among ferns and darker leaves, where the blooms stand out clearly. Even before flowering, its leafy stems help build the layered feel of a sheltered jungle border.

Growing conditions:
Grow in sun or partial shade in rich, moist but well-drained soil, sheltered from cold winds. Protect the rhizomes with a deep winter mulch in mild gardens or overwinter frost-free where winters are colder.

Maximum size:
Approximately 100–150 cm tall and up to 50 cm wide initially, forming a broader clump over time.
