Colocasia gaoligongensis produces large green leaves with a dark spot where the stalk meets the blade. Some leaves also develop darker markings between the veins, adding depth to their striking shape. Its upright habit makes it a useful companion for ferns and lower-growing tropical-style plants. Grow it where there is room to appreciate the individual leaves rather than hiding them in a crowded corner.

Growing conditions:
Provide warmth, shelter and sun or partial shade, with rich soil and plentiful summer moisture. Protect the crown well in winter, or keep dormant tubers dry and frost-free for more reliable overwintering.

Maximum size:
Approximately 50–100 cm tall and wide, potentially forming a broader colony as it establishes.
