Disocactus anguliger, widely sold as Epiphyllum anguliger, produces flattened green stems with deeply notched edges. The stems arch and trail as they lengthen, making it especially attractive in a hanging pot or on a shelf. Mature plants can reward good care with large, fragrant white flowers. This is a forest cactus, so it enjoys a gentler setting than its desert relatives.
Growing conditions:
Provide bright, indirect light and an airy, free-draining potting mix, watering when the upper compost begins to dry. Keep frost-free, avoid strong midday sun and reduce watering in winter without allowing prolonged complete dryness.
Maximum size:
Stems can reach approximately 50–100 cm in length, with a spread of around 30–50 cm; displayed height depends on how it is supported or allowed to trail.
